Many of UIC’s students are parents but are invisible to the rest of the campus community. Join the Women’s Leadership and Resource Center and Campus Advocacy Network for a conversation with Katrina Washington, a recent UIC graduate, to learn about her journey as a student-parent. The conversation will address a variety of areas: competing responsibilities of being a parent and a student, the obstacles and stigmas attached to becoming a parent while enrolled in university, and the ways she negotiated all of these to realize her goals and dreams. Come to learn; leave inspired and ready to make change.
