Reimagining Masculinities Initiative: Masculinity and Emotions

Date / Time

April 19, 2018

3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Join us for our final dialogue of the semester, which focuses on emotions. At this event, we will create space for men to share ways in which they have expressed and dealt with anger, disappointment, frustration, sadness, happiness and joy. With insight from counselors from the UIC Counseling Center, we will identify healthy coping strategies when experiencing and processing complex emotions.

This event is a collaborative effort between the UIC Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change and the UIC Counseling Center. The Reimagining Masculinities Initiative is a collaboration between the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change that strives to cultivate, support, affirm, and create male allies and advocates. Through dialogues, films, workshops, and personal stories, this initiative unpacks what it means to be masculine, and explores issues of masculinity and gender.

All audiences are welcome to join us at this event. For disability accommodations, please contact us at lgbtqa@uic.edu or (312) 413-8619.
