Tsuru for Solidarity

Date / Time

March 11, 2020

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join the Global Asian Studies Program (GLAS) in the folding paper cranes to call for an end to immigration detention centers.  Cranes will be part of the June 5 national pilgrimage to close the camps.

During World War II, over 100,000 Japanese-Americans were incarcerated in American concentration camps. Japanese-American activists created TSURU FOR SOLIDARITY to not only recognize the injustice, but to stand in solidarity with immigrant and refugee communities being detained and targeted by racist and inhumane immigration policies.

Materials and light refreshments will be provided.
