UICPD Domestic Violence Awareness Month Donation Drive

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the UIC Police are collecting items for women and children in need of housing and support services. Donations will be given to Deborah’s Place, a Chicago nonprofit organization.

Needed personal and household items include:

• Deodorant
• Body lotion
• Mouthwash
• Menstrual supplies
• Razor and shaving cream
• Intimates/leggings (all sizes)
• Dish soap/dishwasher detergent
• Laundry detergent
• All-purpose spray/air freshener
• Towels (all sizes)
• Tupperware sets
• Bed linens (sizes twin+)

Special items needed include:

• CTA fare cards
• Bubble bath/bath bombs
• Makeup and nail care supplies
• Grocery gift cards (Jewel-Osco, Pete’s, Mariano’s, Walmart, Visa, Target, Aldi)

Donation bins can be found at the following campus locations:

• Daley Library
• Roosevelt Road Building
• Student Recreation Facility
• UIC Police Department
• College of Medicine West Tower
