Biography

Daniel Moreira

Dr. Daniel Moreira, assistant professor of urology, specializes in the surgical care of men with urologic cancers, such as bladder, kidney, prostate and testicular cancers. He has a background in biostatistics, outcomes and health services research with particular interests in patient-centered outcomes research, risk stratification and cancer epidemiology for prostate and kidney cancer. Moreira’s research interests include the use of MRI imaging for prostate cancer and the roll of inflammation in fighting prostate cancer.

Moreira is an active member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Urologic Oncology. He also serves as a reviewer for the journals European Urology, Journal of Urology and Urology.

Moreira earned a medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and a master’s degree in clinical research from Duke University. He completed a residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish and a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.
