Didem Ozevin
Professor of civil, materials, and environmental engineering
Biography
Didem Ozevin is professor of civil, materials and environmental engineering at the UIC College of Engineering. Before this appointment, she worked as a research scientist at Physical Acoustics Corporation for more than four years. There, she gained expertise in many nondestructive evaluation methods, such as acoustic emission, ultrasonics, and eddy currents.
Her current research focuses on integrating structural design and damage assessment methods for resilient infrastructures, elastic wave problem for acoustics and ultrasonics, nonlinear ultrasonics, MEMS sensors, and real-time process and crack detection at various metallic and composite materials and structures.
Subject areas:
• Structural health monitoring
