Dr. H. Steven Sims is the director of the Chicago Institute for Voice Care at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital & Health Sciences System.

He is a board certified otolaryngologist who has treated hundreds of local and national entertainers with voice disorders or injuries including members of Chicago’s Lyric Opera, the casts from “Wicked,” “Jersey Boys,” “Book of Mormon” and “Dreamgirls.”

Teachers, moms, lawyers, sports coaches and others who rely heavily on their voices in the day-to-day activities have also been among Sims’ patients.

Sims can speak on vocal fatigue, reflux disease, paralyzed vocal folds, chronic hoarseness and other medical and physical issues that impact a person’s ability to use their voice.
