Jason Polakis

Jason Polakis is an assistant professor of computer science in the UIC College of Engineering. His research focuses on issues of security and privacy of online social networks and web services. In particular, he is interested in gaining a better understanding of the security limitations of web services and the privacy threats faced by those that use them. He also works on designing countermeasures that services can adopt to create more robust web functionality and build-in effective security and privacy protections. Polakis also looks at vulnerabilities in authentication mechanisms and bot-prevention mechanisms.
