Jonah Fleisher
Assistant professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology
Biography
Dr. Jonah Fleisher is assistant professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at the UIC College of Medicine and director of the Center for Reproductive Health at UI Health.
Fleisher is fellowship-trained in complex family planning and focuses his clinical practice on complex contraceptive care, abortion and miscarriage management.
His interests in public health and global women’s health have brought him to study and work in countries in Africa, Central America and South America. Fleisher’s research includes the study of pregnancy mementos provided in abortion services and on reproductive health literacy. He teaches patient advocacy and is actively engaged in medical student education.
Fleisher earned a medical degree from Northwestern University. He completed residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and fellowship training at New York University, where he also earned a master’s in global public health. Fleisher is also a fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health.
