Julie Carbray, clinical professor of psychiatry and nursing, focuses her teaching and research interests on psychopharmacology and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with mood disorders and ADHD; the neurobiology of mood disorders; detecting depression in underrepresented youth; family responses to childhood mental health disorders; and psychiatric mental health practice.
Carbray has been a consultant to the Chicago Police Department to develop training curricula for officers responding to situations involving children and adolescents with mental illness, to industry partners invested in educating the public about mental health in children and adolescents, and partners with advocacy groups to strengthen community support for families managing mental illness.
