Paul Metaxatos focuses his research on transit planning, transportation and land use, intelligent transportation systems, transportation modeling, multimodal transportation, and planning and economic development.

As a consultant, he has completed projects for the Bogota, Colombia, Metro; the U.S. Department of Transportation; the Illinois Department of Transportation; and other transit agencies.
