Flames tailgate

Get fired up to cheer on the men’s basketball team tonight at a tailgate event.

Although UIC does not have a football team for us to cheer for during these cold months, we will have the football game atmosphere for UIC students, faculty, staff and alumni to enjoy today when UIC hosts the #FlamesFridayTailgate in Parking Lot 1A, which is located on 1109 W. Harrison across the street from the Pavilion. Admission is free for all and will begin at 4:30 p.m. and run until 6:30 p.m., when the focus will shift to the men’s basketball team for their regular season home opener against San Francisco University at 7 p.m. The women’s basketball team takes on Howard University at noon for their home opener so let’s show our teams some love and pack the Pavilion.
​Back to the tailgate. We are encouraging those who will attend to bring your cars, grills, tents, folding chairs and your UIC Flames spirit. There will be FREE food, a Buffalo Wild Wings contest, which should be interesting and beverages. Some of the pre-game activities and entertainment will include Flame thrower performances, a photo booth, inflatable basketball, spike ball and much more. If that doesn’t give you reason to come out, I know the s’mores will.
​If it happens to rain, the tailgate will be moved to the Pavilion Garage located across the street from the Parking Lot 1A. Nothing is going to keep us from cheering on our Flames tonight. If you’re planning on staying for the game, UIC Students can get tickets at the tailgate or the Pavilion Ticket Office located on the corner of Harrison and Racine. Hope to see you there.
