Free flu shots for students, employees

Flu Shot

Free flu shot clinics will be on campus in September and October.

Annual free vaccination clinics offer qualifying registered students, employees and retirees a chance to receive a seasonal flu vaccination at no cost. Eligible people are enrolled in Campus Care, Quality Care Health Plans (QCHP), Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Open Access Plan (OAP), or other state-sponsored insurance plans.

Student Flu Clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Student Center West on two dates: Sept. 20 in the Thompson Room, and Sept. 24 in Room 206. A valid i-card is required.

State Seasonal Flu Shot Clinics for employees and retirees will take place at two locations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Oct. 16 in the Thompson Rooms, Student Center West, and Oct. 23 in the Cardinal Room, Student Center East. Employees must present their health insurance card from a state-sponsored plan and valid i-card. Retirees must also bring a card from their state-sponsored plan and state ID or driver’s license.

This service is made possible by the UIC College of Pharmacy, University Payroll and Benefits, and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.

University staff or retirees who have questions about the free seasonal flu shot program should contact University Payroll and Benefits at (312) 996-6471 or the UIC College of Pharmacy at (312) 996-6300.
