Research Resources Center (RRC) Research Histology and Tissue Imaging Core (RHTIC)

The Research Histology and Tissue Imaging Core (RHTIC) facility at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has an open position for a full-time Research Specialist with a background in histology.  The holder of this position will contribute to a wide range of biomedical investigations by designing and executing procedures for preparing and staining tissue samples prior to microscopy analysis.  Duties will include optimization of immunostaining protocols, including multiplex stains, and collaboration with image analysis staff.  This Research Specialist will report to the Director of the RHTIC and participate in the daily functions of the histology laboratory, including billing, website management and equipment maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical or life sciences or a related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience involving histotechnology.  Evidence of the ability to multitask while maintaining detailed records is essential.  Candidates must be comfortable with computer equipment and software tools commonly used in research histology.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
