UIC Police First Fully Accredited University Force in Ill.

The UIC Police became the first university police force in Illinois to receive full accreditation from the Commission for the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, a national credentialing authority for municipal, county and state agencies.

Five UIC Students Win Gilman Study Abroad Awards

Five University of Illinois at Chicago undergraduates have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman scholarships for study abroad opportunities during the 2012 spring semester. Since 2006, UIC students have received 54 Gilman scholarships totaling $224,500.

Trustees Set Tuition for New Students

Guaranteed four-year tuition for incoming U of I students next fall will increase by 4.8 percent, or the equivalent of 1.9 percent per year during the four-year guarantee. The Board of Trustees passed the proposal, which ties tuition increases to the rate of inflation, at its meeting on campus Thursday.
