Suspect sought in strong-arm robbery

A UIC student was the victim of a strong-arm robbery while walking west of Thomas Beckham Hall just after 1 a.m. Friday.

The suspect approached the student and demanded the student’s wallet. After the student complied, the suspect looked through the wallet, then dropped it and struck the student in the face.

The suspect fled without the wallet, running toward the residence hall.

The student refused medical treatment.

The suspect was described as a white male between 20 to 24 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches, 140 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket and a red knit hat.

Arrests by UIC Police

Dec. 6: A woman was arrested for criminal trespass at 12:45 p.m. at 915 W. Roosevelt Road.

Two men were arrested for battery at 11:05 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion.
