Arrests by UIC Police

June 23: A man was arrested for resisting a peace officer at 9:47 p.m. at 525 S. Throop St.

June 24: A man was arrested for DUI at 4:39 a.m. at 815 W. Van Buren St.

 

Police seek two in robbery attempt

UIC and Chicago police are seeking two men who attempted to take another man’s backpack at 4:30 p.m. on Taylor Street in front of the Paulina Street Parking Structure.

The man was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance but fought off the attackers, who fled east on Taylor Street, UIC Police said. He suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from UIC Hospital.

Both offenders were described as Hispanic males, 18 to 23 years old. One was 5-feet-6 and 145 pounds, with a black teardrop tattoo under his left eye and a light mustache. He wore a tan T-shirt and baggy jeans. The other was 5-feet-11 and 165 pounds, wearing a blue T-shirt with an orange Chicago Bears “C” logo, baggy jeans and sneakers with orange stripes.
