IPhone robbery near campus

A UIC student reported losing her iPhone to strong-arm robbery Oct. 27 as she was walking north of campus.

She told UIC Police she was northbound on Racine Avenue shortly after noon when she noticed a man following her. She said she stopped in the Target store on Jackson Boulevard to elude him, but when she left the store, the man pushed her to the ground, taking her phone and fleeing down an alley.

The victim called the police, who recovered the phone from a nearby trash can.

She described the offender as a black male, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3, muscular and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and black sweat pants.
