Police seek suspect in armed robbery

UIC Police received a report of an armed robbery at 1:16 p.m. Sept. 9 that occurred in the 900 block of W. 14th Place. A female victim, who is not affiliated with UIC, was walking when she was approached by a male offender who implied that he had a gun and demanded her property. The victim gave the offender her cell phone and wallet and he fled north on Morgan Street.

The offender is described as a black male, approximately 18 years old and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. The victim was not injured.

The Chicago Police Department will lead the investigation, with assistance from the UIC Police/CPD Joint Robbery Task Force.
