Powerful outside hitter joins volleyball team

Morgan Mereday put down 263 kills in her high school career.

 

Morgan Mereday, a 6-foot outside hitter and Second Team All-State selection in 2014, signed a National Letter of Intent to play with the Flames.

Mereday (Hunterdon Central/Lebanon, NJ) is a powerful, explosive hitter with a big vertical reach. She put down 263 kills in her career, including 121 as a junior in 2013.

Mereday had 100 kills and 42 digs as a senior in 2014 while leading Hunterdon Central to a Group IV title. She had nine kills in the Group IV title match victory.

Mereday was named First Team All-Area and First Team All-Conference in 2014. She played club volleyball for USANY.

Mereday is the seventh addition for the 2015 season. She joins Alyssa Ehrhardt, a 5-foot-11 outside hitter from Algonquin who transfers from Toledo; Bridget Powell, a 5-foot-6 defensive specialist from Oak Lawn who transfers from Purdue; Ali Witt, a 6-foot middle blocker from Crystal Lake; Macy Geyer, a 5-foot-11 setter from Rockton; Carla Salvato, a 5-foot-5 libero from Chicago, and Haley Sullivan, a 5-foot-3 libero from Lemont.
