SparkUIC lights up the Pavilion

Nearly 4,000 students waving glowsticks filled the UIC Pavilion Sept. 3 for Spark in the Park, UIC’s free annual back-to-school concert.

The private event featured headliners twenty one pilots, who roused the crowd with lights, fog, a crowd-surfing drum solo and a cannon confetti conclusion.

Hip hop artist Wale waded into the crowd during his performance, setting off a wave of excited fans.

TanZen, winner of the 2015 UIC Radio Battle of the Bands, started the evening with a blast led by UIC alumni Ted Sofios and Armin Maksumic.
