Biography
Emily Stone, Director of Research and Science Communications
Emily joined UIC April 10, 2023, as the director of research and science communications in UIC Strategic Marketing and Communications (Storytelling and Content Strategy team). She most recently was the research editor at Kellogg Insight, the faculty thought leadership magazine at the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. In addition to freelance writing for local and national publications, Emily’s science writing career also includes spending two summers at McMurdo Station covering Antarctic research for the National Science Foundation’s newspaper, The Antarctic Sun. She also was an editor at Patch, a network of hyper-local news sites; taught journalism at Columbia College; and covered local news and crime for the Burlington Free Press in Vermont.
