Sherri McGinnis Gonzalez, Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Marketing and Communications

Sherri McGinnis Gonzalez is Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Marketing and Communications where she leads communications and media relations for the university’s 16 colleges and Hospital & Health Sciences System. She provides strategic leadership for campus communications, media relations, and serves as campus spokesperson.

Before joining UIC, she was partner-manager at Medem, an online health care information network founded by the American Medical Association and the nation’s leading medical societies. Other previous positions include public relations and media relations for the University of Chicago Hospitals, where she received the University of Chicago Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award.

She is a graduate of Michigan State University.
