Swimming, diving team earns All-American honors

Sarah Harper

Sarah Harper led the women’s swim team in academics with a 3.86 cumulative GPA.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving team members were recognized for their achievements in and outside the classroom — the teams were named Scholar All-American teams by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

“The coaching staff is very proud of this accomplishment,” head coach Paul Moniak said. “It shows our student-athletes are striving to achieve a high level of success in the pool as well as the classroom.”

The women’s squad posted a team cumulative GPA of 3.38, the best average among Horizon League programs. Five team members earned a perfect 4.0 last semester, including senior Sarah Harper who has a team-leading 3.86 cumulative GPA.

The men’s team, the only Horizon League men’s program to make the cut, has a cumulative team GPA of 3.04. Eight team members have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Freshman Vince Errichiello has a team-best GPA of 3.64.
