UI Health open late to help uninsured get covered

WHAT:

The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, together with Get Covered Illinois, the official state health insurance marketplace, will have certified application counsellors available for extended hours to help people sign up for health insurance during the final three days before the March 31 deadline.

Those interested in enrolling at UI Health during this time will be seen on a first-come, first-served, walk-in basis.

Certified application counselors can answer questions about insurance options, assist with navigating health insurance websites and help with enrollment forms free of charge.

DETAILS:

March 31 is the deadline to enroll in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, which offers affordable options for coverage and financial assistance for those who qualify. Under the ACA, Americans who don’t sign up for health insurance by the March 31 deadline will pay a penalty on their 2014 income taxes.
