Watch former Flame take on Fire

Former Flame Jay DeMerit, now a Vancouver Whitecap, faces the Fire.

UIC Flames fans can cheer on alumnus Jay DeMerit Saturday as his Vancouver Whitecaps take on the Chicago Fire.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Park in Bridgeview.

DeMerit, a 2001 grad, will play in 2012 Major League Soccer All-Star Game July 25 at PPL Park in Philadelphia.

At UIC, DeMerit earned NSCAA All-Midwest and All-Horizon League honors for three seasons. He scored 11 goals and tallied 14 assists during his playing with the Flames.
