Presidential Prediction: A statistical model based on short-term unemployment trends correctly predicts the electoral-vote tally in 17 of the 21 presidential elections since 1928. Schools’ Report Cards. Experts note the discrepancy between results of the Illinois Standards Achievement Test, passed by 82 percent of third- through eighth-graders, and the Prairie State Achievement Exam, passed by only 51 percent of 10th-graders.
