Women's Soccer Team huddle

“As a team, we are excited for the opportunity to improve upon the progress we made last season and step up to the challenges our competitive schedule will present,” head coach Brian Rigby says.

In their second season of competition, the women’s soccer team will play 19 regular-season contests, including eight at home and two against teams that competed in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

The home opener at Flames Field is set for Aug. 30 against Western Michigan.

“We have another strong schedule put together for this season with many of the same quality teams as last year,” said head women’s soccer coach Brian Rigby. “As a team, we are excited for the opportunity to improve upon the progress we made last season and step up to the challenges our competitive schedule will present.”

After an exhibition match Aug. 15 at IPFW, the Flames kick off the regular season with their first three games on the road. The slate begins Aug. 21 in Morehead, Kentucky, against Morehead State and continues in Indianapolis Aug. 23 at IUPUI. A midweek game  Aug. 28 takes the Flames to Missouri to face St. Louis before returning to Chicago.

“We have some tough matchups scheduled for our nonconference schedule. We’re confident that this kind of competition early on in the season will challenge us and help to prepare us for the competitive nature of the Horizon League,” Rigby said.
