Women’s tennis notches wins at invitational

The women’s tennis team concluded action at the Bowling Green Invitational Saturday, finishing the tournament with 13 singles victories and with six wins in doubles.

After winning their first two matches of the invitational Friday, sophomore Melika LeBlanc and freshman Rachel Le Comber each took the final match to win their flights.

In addition to a third-place finish in her doubles flight with sophomore Bianca Zuzu, LeBlanc finished with a record of 5-1. Including doubles, Le Comber finished the match with a 4-1 record.

Junior Oana Manole took the consolation in her flight after outlasting Evansville, 7-6, 7-5. Manole finished with an overall record of 3-2.

The Flames captured two third-place singles finishes after senior Jackie Altansarnai and Zuzu won their last match.

Altansarnai also took third in doubles with teammate Ann-Sophie Hahn by defeating Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and finished with a doubles record of 2-1. Zuzu wrapped up with a 3-2 record.
