Welcome to Campus Advocacy Network’s Shake It Up! Series spring workshop entitled Beyond Compliance: Survivor-Centered Advocacy in Praxis. In collaboration with campus partners, CAN invites the larger UIC community for this critical dialogue, through which we ask this central question: How do we go beyond the model of compliance to actively engage in survivor-centered practices and create survivor-centered spaces on campus?
Join us for this dialogue-centered workshop. We will focus on the following questions:
What does survivor-centered advocacy/practice mean?
What does centering survivors’ needs and wants entail?
How do we go beyond the model of compliance to actively create survivor-centered spaces?
