Join the UIC Department of Disability and Human Development for deCRIPtion, a storytelling and poetry workshop designed by and with disability community in mind.
We teach one workshop a month. Each workshop is taught once in person and once virtually.
The in-person workshop runs from 1-3 p.m., but you’re welcome to join us for lunch at noon (vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options will be provided, but please let us know what your dietary restrictions are so we can do our best to ensure you can fully participate and be in community with us.).
Location: Access Living: 115 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60654
Find more information on getting to Access Living, including parking and transit information.
This series of workshops take place in scent-free space, so please refrain from wearing any scented products. Please contact Joy Young at jyoung@accessliving.org if you have any questions or access needs not covered or that come up after registration. Food will be provided at in-person workshops. When not eating, masks are requested for all people, unless it is in conflict with one’s access needs. We will provide masks if you need one.
Watch for dates for upcoming workshops, including virtual workshops.
