Lobbying for Change Workshop w/ Young Invincibles and Women Employed

Date / Time

February 21, 2019

3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Please join the GSC and Troy Alim, Midwest Organizer at Young Invincibles, and Women Employed as we learn the basics of advocating for issues that matter to us and holding a meeting with policymakers in Springfield to effect real change in our state.

Our Lobbying for Change workshop will review the basics of sharing your story, how to frame an issue, and how to lead a legislative meeting. This workshop will prepare students for attending the Lobby Day trip with Young Invincibles and Women Employed in April when we get to meet with policymakers and share our stories to influence real change.

Queer UP! series was created to highlight the importance of leadership development as a crucial component for representation and inclusion. It provides workshops to build skills and learn about the many ways to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights.
