Flu Vaccine: Regional Campus Information
Rockford has made arrangements for employees to receive flu shots at the Winnebago Health Department clinic. For information about flu shots for students, please see Rockford Student Flu Shot Information.
The College of Nursing Quad Cities Campus is a graduate program. All working nurses should receive their flu vaccine through their employer or other source.
Seasonal flu shots will be available at no charge to state benefit-eligible faculty and staff, beginning Tuesday, October 6th, 2020, after your COVID-19 SHIELD Test at PAC Restaurant.
To receive the seasonal flu vaccination at no charge, you must be regularly working on campus. In order to reduce possible COVID-19 exposure, visitors to campus are not allowed at the flu shot clinic.
State benefit-eligible employees may also go to most Walgreens, Walmart, or CVS locations, as well as local hospital and clinic flu shot events in the campus area, and receive a free flu shot with your state-sponsored health plan insurance card. Call or ask first to ensure your insurance is accepted at these locations.
Employees who have opted out of health insurance coverage through the state are NOT eligible for the free seasonal flu shots through this program. Additionally, the following individuals are NOT eligible for the free seasonal flu shots through this program: dependents, spouses, contractual workers, volunteers, consultants, extra help, academic hourly, visiting scholars, and part-time employees who are not enrolled in a state-sponsored health plan.
Urbana-Champaign employees and students can access flu shots through the McKinley Health Center service. McKinley began administering flu shots on September 15, 2020 and have announced various campus locations and times that flu shots are available for faculty, staff and students through the end of October.
