Flu Vaccine: Student Instructions
To help ensure the health and safety of the UIC community, the university is strongly encouraging all students who are on campus this fall to be vaccinated for seasonal flu.
Students with CampusCare insurance can receive a free flu shot on campus at the University Village pharmacy (722 W. Maxwell St., 2nd floor; 312-355-2345). Walk-ins accepted.
Students are also welcome to make appointments at the Family Medicine Center at University Village, a full-service Family Medicine clinic offering a full range of primary care services and the starting point for Student Health Fee covered medical care.
Students with private health insurance should consult their doctor’s office or local pharmacy.
For students who are not covered by an insurance plan, the flu shot is available at no cost in many locations in Chicago, including doctor’s offices, pharmacies, public health clinics and community health centers. Students can find a location at Find a Flu Shot.
Students in UIC health sciences colleges participating in clinical rotations can receive a flu vaccine through UI Health’s vaccination program for clinical staff. Vaccine appointments can be scheduled through established Immuware accounts, and students should follow instructions from UI Health.
