UIC gymnast Mikailla Northern represented the Flames at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Saturday at the Coleman Coliseum in Alabama. The freshman wrapped up competition with an all-around total of 37.450.

Northern’s best score of the afternoon came on floor, where she took 23rd with a score of 9.750. On vault she earned a 9.625, on beam she registered a 9.600 and on bars she finished with a 8.475.

“Miki did a fantastic job on vault, floor and beam,” co-head coach Peter Jansson said. “If not for a small slip on the bar she would have had a great all-around. We are so proud of how she represented UIC.”

Host Alabama took home first place (197.135) and received an automatic bid alongside California (195.925) to the NCAA National Championship in Fort Worth, Texas.
