Weather and Campus Operating Status

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

The impending winter weather conditions call for heavy snow beginning this evening through Friday evening. We are preparing for the storm and will closely watch the forecast from the US National Weather Service in Chicago.

At this point we are waiting for additional information before a decision is made regarding a delayed opening or a cancellation of certain University functions. We will assess the situation throughout the evening and will update you accordingly via Urgent e-mail; sms text messaging to subscribed mobile phones; the UIC.edu website; and the UIC Information Line, (312) 413-9696.

The residential, healthcare, and research aspects of UIC operations make it impossible to close the entire campus. However, we are committed to the safety and well-being of our employees and students.
