Sheryl Underwood, comedian, UIC graduate and host of “The Talk” CBS daytime show, will visit campus Sept. 9 — this time to talk with students.

Her appearance, 1 to 2 p.m. in the Illinois Room, is open to the UIC community.

A 1987 graduate in communication and theatre, Underwood is founder and CEO of Pack Rat Productions and the Pack Rat Foundation for Education, working to support historically black colleges and universities and students in higher education.

She is former international president of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.

Underwood is a weekly contributor and guest host on the “Steve Harvey Morning Show” and hosts an eponymous show on Jamie Foxx’s “The Foxxhole” on Sirius satellite radio. She has appeared in films, including “Beauty Shop” with Queen Latifah, hosted talk shows, including “BET Comic View,” and appeared on many others.

On “The Talk,” which airs at 1 p.m. weekdays, Underwood and fellow hosts Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Aisha Tyler discuss contemporary issues, current events and pop culture.
